Strengths

  1. Strong communication skill: I have a strong communication skill. I have a good command over English language. I am good in explaining things to people. Although I never had the opportunity to teach students in a formal capacity, I had always been an unofficial teaching assistant for my peers and I always took pleasure in explaining difficult terms or concepts of mathematics, physics and or electrical engineering to them. Also while working in the library, I had to constantly communicate with students and faculties alike to explain ‘how to find a book’, ‘how to search effectively to retrieve an article from our library’s enormous e-resources databases’ and so on.
  2. Strong fundamental of electrical engineering: I believe I have a strong fundamental of engineering not because of my good GPA, but because I rigorously adhered to my learning principles. More about it here.

Weaknesses:

  1. One of my weaknesses used to be my aversion to embrace the use of new software. Learning how to use a new technology used to seem very troubling to me. When I was a high school student, I did not have to use much software for my educational work, but for university courses, many of them required the use of computer aided systems. Almost every semester required learning a new software or two as different professors preferred different software. After struggling for the first two semesters, I realized that if I try ‘to get done somehow’ without properly learning a software or a new technology that a particular situation demands me to learn, I will not go very far. So, I worked on it and took learning the usage of new technologies or software as a fun. From then on, I did not have much trouble with new software or technology. For example, I had trouble with MATLAB, but after I took it as fun, I have now become a great fan of MATLAB software. I can now comfortably work with Ultiboard, Multisim, MATHCAD, MAPLE and different other computer aided systems.  From this experience, I have learned another lesson: it taught me that to improve in life, I should be quick when it comes to change and adapt in a new situation. The process can become easier if I take the  new adjustments as fun. This lesson will surely be useful when I land in a job.
  2. I have observed that I am sometimes late to reacting to jokes.
